Transform Lives this GivingTuesday

GivingTuesday is coming up fast!

On November 28th, we invite you to make a donation to the Anishnawbe Health Foundation. With your donation you have the incredible opportunity to bring about positive change in urban Indigenous peoples access to culturally informed healthcare.

Did you know that for over 30 years, Anishnawbe Health Toronto has pioneered a unique healthcare model, integrating Western medicine with traditional healing services. It is the only health facility in Toronto of its kind.

Building Update

Have you checked out the live feed of our new health center? It may be getting colder outside, but construction is still well underway. We are anticipating moving into the health center in early 2024!

Out in Community

CanadaHelps Press Conference:

Our AHF team members Audrey Rochette, Executive Director and Brooke Harrison, Senior Marketing, Communications and Donor Relations Manager attended a Press Conference held by CanadaHelps at the Global Medic headquarters.

13 national and local charity leaders presented a unifying message to Canadians to highlight the heightened demand that many charities across Canada are currently facing.  The rise in demand for charitable assistance is due to the rising cost of living, and influx in mental and physical health issues.

Treaty Recognition Week

In 2016, Ontario passed the first legislation of its kind in Canada declaring the first full week of November as Treaties Recognition Week. This year Treaties Recognition Week took place from November 5th to November 11th.

Learning Resources:

As a new segment to this newsletter, we will be providing resources for you to learn more about the Indigenous landscape in Canada.
